Her paintings explore personal experience and emotion paired with invented circumstances and fictious narratives. She often paints characters based on self-portraits that question concepts of identity and investigate the way individuals relate to one another. Pattern plays an important role in creating an environment in which these characters exist while making connections between multiple paintings. The objects depicted are drawn from everyday life and become symbols of memory that recall certain experiences. The recurring shoes act as documented souvenirs from specific moments in time and place, linking the characters and the world in which they exist to personal experience and memory.
