Betsy Bret Harte

Bret Harte’s interests lie in testing the limits of fiction and the veracity of autobiography. She is most concerned with the effect of solitude on an active mind, and uses her photographs to challenge the relationship between memory and story telling, history and currency, identity and personal narrative. Originally from the desert town of Tucson, Bret Harte currently resides in Phoenix where she conceives a fertile artistic landscape for herself while teaching photography and mixed media at the New School For the Arts.
