Dain Q. Gore is a recent MFA recipient from ASU. Having studied End-Times myths of his culture, he presents doom and redemption in a humorous and mocking way. His cast of absurd characters shifts between the religious and secular worlds to suit his own vision of the supernatural realm.
His work recalls the populated, image-heavy landscape traditions of Northern Europe and the kinetic sensibility of animation. The settings often evoke the limited space of the theater and an altered scale inspired by the world of puppetry.
