Jennifer Kiraly

Jennifer Kiraly was born in Michigan and received an MFA in painting at ASU and a BFA in painting and print making from the Kansas City Art Institute. She produces mixed-media paintings influenced by botanical forms, bee systems, memory, and fabrics, which she conceptualizes and layers in unique patterns on her canvases. Distinct textures and silkscreened shapes serve as markers of time and emotion in her work, while intimacy is depicted with color and a collage-like approach to painting. Galleries in the West and Midwest currently represent her work and in 2004 she was the recipient of the Hungarian Multicultural residency grant in Budapest.
