Rebecca Ross has received numerous awards for her photography including both a Visual Arts Fellowship and an Artist Project Grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts. Her photographs of people, landscapes and gardens have been exhibited and collected both nationally and abroad. Her work is included in major art collections including the Museum of Fine Arts-Houston, the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center, City of Tempe and the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture.
As an educator, Ross has taught photography at Arizona State University West, Scottsdale and Chandler-Gilbert Community Colleges and at the Instituto de Miguel Cervantes in Guanajuato, Mexico. She also combines her photography with teaching young people, as in the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture sponsored project “Picture This” and in her work with the Gila and Salt River Indian Communities. She was named 2002 Art Educator of the Year by the Scottsdale Cultural Council for her work with disadvantaged youth.
