Growing up in Southern California, Thomas Strich watched the groves and hillsides be transformed by development. Consequently, our changing relationship with the land has been a reoccurring theme in his art. Strich experiments with creating a synthesis between photography and sculpture. He also creates hand-embellished monoprints of hypothetical landscapes and conjectural maps. His works have been exhibited in the Phoenix area, Tucson, and Santa Fe, including a solo show and a collaborative show at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts.

Thomas is a former member of the collective art space, eyelounge, in Phoenix. He also has participated as an artist in landscape planning and public art projects. Recently, he created public art works for the Rio Salado Gateway, a City of Phoenix project in concert with habitat restoration of the Salt River. He is currently working on other public art projects, including: a multi-generational center for the City of Tempe, and photo-constructions for Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.
