I am very interested in architecture: finding one element from a building and repeating it until it tells me, “stop I have had enough”. Essentially, I strip architecture to its barest structure - to its “skeleton”. My process initiates by starting with one form; and through repetition, emphasizing the simple beauty of this initial shape. I enjoy using building materials because they are perhaps something that is taken for granted due to its abundance – much like most other naturally occurring resources. Because my work also strives to express how architecture and environment can work together, ultimately, I view my art as a bridge between nature and modern society – serving as a reminder that these two “environments” can coexist harmoniously.
