Eye Lounge is a collective, artist-run, contemporary art space committed to fostering emerging and established visual artists in downtown Phoenix.
About
The Eye Lounge collective was founded in 2000 and initially hosted group exhibitions at various locations in and around Phoenix until it relocated to its current location at 922 North 5th Street in 2001. As a founding member of Roosevelt Row, Eye Lounge has been a vital part of the thriving Phoenix art community for over two decades.
Eye Lounge operates on a unique co-op model, allowing artists to exhibit their work on their own terms without the constraints of a for-profit space. This approach has enabled Eye Lounge to showcase some of the best independent artists from across the valley. Over the years, Eye Lounge has accumulated an alumni of nearly 200 artists with diverse backgrounds and achievements.
The gallery has garnered recognition in both local and national press, including features in LensScratch, NPR, Sunset Magazine, Art In America, ArtNews, Phoenix New Times, Shade Magazine, Java, and others. Eye Lounge has been honored with a "Best of Phoenix" award from the Phoenix New Times and has been recognized as part of the "Best Underground Art Scene" by The Arizona Republic.
Eye Lounge continues to be a landmark for Arizona arts, with new exhibitions by local artists opening every month.
