Another World is Possible

A Solo exhibition by Katherine Del Rosario

Another World is Possible will include new experimental artworks by Katherine Del Rosario as her 3rd solo exhibition as an Eye Lounge member at Modified Arts Gallery.

This new body of work includes Del Rosario’s belief in endless possibilities, real and imagined, that draw from personal experiences of memory and forgiveness. The analog collages created this year were made in response to trying to piece together a fragmented state of the world and grieving the constant tragedies unfolding. Del Rosario wants a world free of empire and destruction and has sought to build worlds and portals that can help us ponder what collective liberation and joy may look like. By slowly gathering materials in spaces of comfort, from buying 50-cent magazines from local libraries to her mother’s home with dusty bookshelves filled with children’s illustration books and pamphlets and propaganda kept for education from last year’s mass protest, she was able to intertwine and forge a future that is bright with hope. Another World is Possible encourages the belief that radical imaginations are necessary in times of despair.

Del Rosario is proud to share the gallery space with her close friends, who will exhibit alongside her new work. The guest artists featured in the exhibition include Keiji Bobadilla, Gayle Tomimbang, Eli Virkina, and Jayme Wong.

The exhibition will be displayed from November 15th until December 8th, 2024

The opening reception will be held on November 15th from 6 to 9 p.m., with live music from 8 to 9 p.m.

To celebrate, Del Rosario will also have more of her close friends perform live music. The guest musicians will be Cazo, Johanna Young, and Soojung. Soojung will also perform the new songs from their latest EP, “Unbloom,” which will be released on November 15th and will be available to stream on online platforms.

The exhibition and live music during the opening reception is free and open to the public.
