As a ceramic artist, Sambe explores the cultural interaction between the international food industry and the creative and sometimes bizarre logic of its advertising. He aims to hybridize traditional ceramics hand building and oriental sculptural techniques with advertisements and food packaging to convey his black humor about our food culture of visual communication in advertising. By incorporating culture into the medium, the superficial communication with a fundamental subject matter will help us as consumers to discover and reconsider ourselves, and re-contextualize our philosophy as consumers. In 2018, he explored for next focus and came up with several artworks, which looked as if he ordered several appetizers in a restaurant that stimulates the appetite, decorate table, and work as a prelude to what is coming as main dish.
