Our work is slow and meditative. We work to focus the noise around us: to make it mean something, or sometimes to block it out completely. Our finished objects speak without noise. They stand alone, open to thought, meaningful—whether or not we talk about them. 

"Quieted" is an exhibition of our in-progress and finished works. Please look at the works for what they are now and chat with us about what they might become. We'd love to hear what you think they say now, what else they could say to viewers, and how they stand together.

Allred's experimental process lets her carefully craft new ways to coax fibers into the appearance and forms she wants. This care is quietly expressed in each piece, and she believes that in their repose—or tension—they can provide respite and release for viewers.

Rodriguez's series is constructed using collage and hand embroidery on paper - two processes that allow her to hold space in two places at once: active daydreaming and quiet reflection.

Yoon says that the action of drawing fine one–dimensional lines on a permanent platform forces her to meditate deeply about her experience and express it with precision.
