eye lounge is pleased to present Strange Changes, a group show featuring members of the downtown Phoenix collective.

Strange Changes presents current eye lounge members responding to the theme of change, each in their own way. Kit Abate’s photographs present everyday moments of transformation, serving as a meditation on potential energy. Ellen Nemetz reflects on growth and aging, depicting different stages of her mother’s life in a single painting. Kazuma Sambe’s ceramics provide a whimsical take on the transformation of instant noodles from freeze-dried mystery food to lunch. Installation works from Ashley Czajkowski and Tawny Kerr both incorporate elements of performance and durational change; new additions to the collective and seasoned members round out the show. Strange Changes highlights the collective’s dedication to showcasing local artists working in a variety of media.

Join us during Art Detour weekend March 18th & 19th for special extended hours from 11am to 5pm, artist demonstrations and performances. The exhibition continues through April 16th.
