eye lounge is pleased to present “Bony Processes: Intonations for the Unnoted,” a new exhibition of interdisciplinary work by Cherie Buck-Hutchison.
Bony Processes: Intonations for the Unnoted complicates the patriarchal narrative by suggesting an additional point of view through the poetic act of noting the names of biblical women. Buck-Hutchison compares the processes of bones (areas where muscles attach) to the value of unnamed women in biblical narratives. The work of women is vital; as is the process area of the bone. Biblical women’s names and their arduous efforts go mostly unnoted in comparison to the patriarchal histories. Buck-Hutchison offers an expanded conversation with the unveiling of overlooked names.
Bony Processes: Intonations for the Unnoted is a poetic walk-through exhibition merging art installation, objects and sound poetry to create an immersive experience for the viewer.
The exhibition will run from May 20th through June 12th, 2016. The artist will host on opening reception on Friday, May 20th from 6 – 10 pm and be in the gallery for First Friday on June 3rd, 2016, during regular eye lounge hours and by appointment.
