Humans, like nature, have an amazing ability to protect their insides with a harsh exterior. As seen from the outside, we appear solid and strong, but when you look past the surface, you discover a delicate uniqueness. My current work uses nature to playfully explore, compare and contrast the surprising beauty we find within. Ricci is an artist and educator living in Phoenix. She earned her MFA from the University of Arizona and was the recipient of an "Ideas that Matter" grant from Sappi. This grant enabled her to work with the Arizona Commission on the arts to produce a project highlighting the arts in Arizona. ==
