Kaori Takamura is an artist who was born in Tokyo Japan but lives and works surrounded by beautiful desert in Carefree Arizona. Once a graphic designer by trade who specialized in packaging, brand, and corporate identity Takamura incorporates her unique perspective in her artwork. What Takamura is constantly seeking to capture in her work is the essence of long forgotten memories embodied in letter forms and familiar icons found in everyday objects. Her pieces have been shown at the Phoenix Art Museum, a solo exhibition at the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum, the San Jose Museum of Textile and Quilts and numerous other galleries both nationally and internationally. Her work is locally represented by Gebert Contemporary Art Gallery in Scottsdale.
