Mindy Sue Wittock works out of her home studio in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. She uses stitching techniques to create soft sculpture and textiles that are inspired by the intangible phantom of nostalgia. For Mindy, the act of sewing, of passing each object through her hands as she embellishes, is the act of preserving the limitations of memory and fusing together the past and present with each stitch. She is also the co-founder of The Wondermakers Collective, a collaborative embroidery project, with Minneapolis illustrator Jenna Freimuth. You can find Mindy in her #studioatthetopofthestairs watching VHS tapes and listening to 80’s music.
