Changes for eye lounge
Eye Lounge is pleased to announce that construction to our gallery space is set to begin in the coming weeks! We are excited to start the process of updating our current historic location, to become ADA accessible, and to welcome Greenwood Brewers to our shared space on Roosevelt Row.
Continuing a tradition of nurturing Arizona’s best new and emerging artists in all media, Eye Lounge gallery is making plans for upcoming exhibitions in a renovated space. The artist-run collective will be reconfigured and updated within the same building it’s called home since 2001. The change comes about as the block makes room to add a new female-owned brewery.
Eye Lounge founder and building owner Greg Esser says, “We intend to keep Eye Lounge gallery and Made Art Boutique open throughout construction with continuous programming. There may be times where the entire property may be down temporarily for utility work.”
The gallery will strive to remain open during construction as much as possible with a full schedule of art exhibits, so you won’t miss out on our line-up of local contemporary artists! You can find regular updates on our website at eyelounge.com.
“Just like any other business, art galleries and eye lounge in particular, grow and thrive by embracing change,” says Kit Abate, current co-president of Eye Lounge. “We’re excited about the potential growth and new energy that Greenwood Brewery patrons will bring to Roosevelt Row.”
Celebrate the last weekend in our current space during First Friday, September 6th, with a “Moving Sale” alongside our group show, “Constructed/Deconstructed” from 6 – 10 PM. eye lounge members will be on hand to answer question and present a selection of work and other studio items they are offering for sale.
